Privacy notice
Last updated 25 October 2026
This notice explains what happens to the details you send me through the estimate form on this website, or when you call, message or email me.
Who I am
CDC Maritime is run by Chris Clarke, a marine electronics specialist working between Shoreham and the Hamble River. I'm responsible for the personal information you give me. You can contact me about anything in this notice:
Email: cdcmaritime@proton.me
Phone or WhatsApp: 07825 301766
What I collect
When you ask for an estimate, I collect:
- your name, email address and, if you give it, your phone number
- details of your boat: make and model, length, sail or power, and where it's kept
- a description of the work you need
If you go on to use my services, I also keep the estimate, invoices and payment records, and notes about the work done on your boat.
How I use it, and why
- To reply to your enquiry and give you an estimate. You've asked me to, so I use your details to take the steps needed before we agree any work.
- To carry out and invoice the work, if you go ahead. This is needed to perform our agreement.
- To keep business, tax and accounting records, as the law requires.
I won't use your details for marketing, and I never sell or share them for anyone else's marketing.
Who else sees it
I only share your details with the services I need to run the business:
- Netlify, which hosts this website and passes form submissions to me by email. Netlify may process data outside the UK, under legal safeguards for international transfers.
- Proton Mail, my email provider.
- My accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it.
This website also loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your device's IP address when you visit. The site doesn't use cookies or tracking.
How long I keep it
- If your enquiry doesn't lead to any work, I delete it within 12 months.
- If you become a customer, I keep job and invoice records for six years, as required for tax and accounts, then delete them.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
- ask me to correct anything that's wrong
- ask me to delete your information, unless I have to keep it by law
- object to, or ask me to limit, how I use it
- ask for your information in a format you can take elsewhere
Email or call me to use any of these rights. I'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
