Marine electronics · Yachts & power boats 30–60 ft
I'm Chris Clarke, a marine electronics specialist with 25 years' experience working on yachts and power boats between 30 and 60 ft.
You deal with me directly, from the first on-site meeting, through the estimate and installation phases, to handover, sea trial and aftercare once the work is completed.
I have worked on boats in the UK, Norway and the Caribbean, so I know how electronics hold up in everything from cold northern waters to tropical heat and humidity.
From a single new display to a full refit, every job is planned around how you actually use the boat.
New installs and upgrades, multi-display helm layouts, and integration with existing instruments.
Supply, fit and sea-trial commissioning, including drive units, compasses and rudder feedback.
Clean backbones, gateways between old and new kit, and tracing faults on networks that have grown over the years.
Radio and AIS installs, antenna runs and splitters, and making sure your MMSI and GPS feed are set up correctly.
Battery upgrades and monitoring, chargers, alternator regulation, inverters and solar.
Intermittent faults, tired wiring and pre-purchase or pre-season electrical checks, with a clear written report.
A few of the jobs owners most often ask me for.

Most jobs can be done afloat at your berth or mooring. Some work, such as through-hull transducers, needs the boat lifted. I'll tell you which when I give you an estimate.
Yes, I can supply the equipment, or I can install equipment you have bought yourself.
Often, yes. Gateways can link older NMEA 0183 equipment to a new NMEA 2000 network, so you don't always need to replace everything at once.
I cover the coast from Shoreham to the Hamble River, including Littlehampton, Chichester Harbour and Portsmouth. Further afield by arrangement.
For most jobs I will meet you on board to discuss your requirements, followed by a written estimate.
Most marinas now charge contractors a daily fee to work in the marina. This fee will be passed on to you.
